20 Years of Giving Back: Viv’s Story

14 May 2026

For more than 20 years, Viv has been a familiar and friendly face at St George Community.

Across two decades of volunteering, she has supported the organisation in many different ways, from helping in the office to assisting with community transport and day-to-day operations.

Her long-standing commitment has made her a well-known and valued part of the organisation.

Over the years, Viv has seen St George Community grow and evolve, but says the sense of connection and teamwork has always remained the same.

She enjoys the social side of volunteering and the friendships built along the way, both with fellow volunteers and clients.

Like many long-term volunteers, Viv says being part of St George Community has become more than simply volunteering. It has become part of her routine, her community and her life.

Her contribution over more than two decades reflects the important role volunteers play behind the scenes every day, often quietly helping wherever they are needed.

For staff, volunteers and clients alike, Viv’s welcoming presence has become a familiar part of St George Community.
